Fantastic looking rig. Beautiful restoration on both boat and motors.

VERY nice boat too. Is that an Evinrude 15 hp on it?
I have a Peterborough Lakeside powered with a ’58 Johnson 18hp, that looks very similar.
Fun little boats, so easily launched and operated, often "simple is better" .
Bill.September 11, 2018 at 2:04 pm #82638September 11, 2018 at 2:47 pm #82640That brings back so many memories!! I grew up with a very similar boat….my grandmother’s 14′ 1953 Thompson + 15HP15012 SuperFastwin. Man, we had some fun back then!
September 12, 2018 at 3:21 am #82690Steve H.,
The 18hp really works beautifully for my Peterborough, which is "rated" for exactly that hp. and really scoots along at WOT. Very easy on gas compared to the Big Twins too.
My Lakeside has the same large deck at the bow as your Lakefield, and I’ve rigged it up with remote controls.
This boat was also in pretty bad shape, having served most of its life at a fishing camp.
I had found a set of original back rests, so decided to go that route.
Windshield is a home made effort.
No electrics, no battery, nice and simple.Bill.
