Lauson motor

Hello..

We have rec’d a Lauson motor that has been sitting for a long time. Could this be a serial number? 70B1955. Photo attached.

That is the only identifying number that you will find on that motor. That is a Lauson model 410. the last four digits would be the serial number. the 7 may indicate that is a 1947 motor. I am guessing on the year. It is a 2.5hp,, 4 stroke, single. It takes around 10 ounces of 30 weight non-detergent oil in the sump. Polish the points and set at 0.020″ in. Check for grease in the gearbox. It should run and idle slow when running right.

Ours looks exactly the same! I have been cleaning it, for now enough so we can handle it and I found another number. OB 4483. Could that be a serial number? It is on the mounting bracket for the drive shaft, exhaust

Hello…I am wondering if a parts manual, or owners manual exists for this motor.It is a Lauson 410 and looks just like the image above.
