The Scintilla coil, which it looks like the military spec coil emulates,
takes a .17 to .21 mfd condenser, but being military “specs”,
      who knows!

When I first researched the 4A032 military coil I found a parts catalogue, which showed the capacitor as .25 mfd. I use OMC universal condensers (.22mfd) with no issues. The OMC condenser is just on the edge of the normal range so I don’t see any long term issues especially considering the amount of use the motors get.

Thanks Wayne, I ended up using a .22 axial cap, which is just a hair over of what
a Mercury type Scintilla coil needs. I just “hoped” that the Military and Scintilla type
coil were close in specs…….. sounds like I’m close enough!
I’ll file your information for next time. Thanks!

Watching the video, it looks like the flywheel is bent? Might have something to do with the failure?

If you can get your hands on a “parts coil” it will make the process a lot easier.Lacking that, you’ll need to fabricate laminates to fit tightly between the mag plate heels and a long threaded rod to hold every thing in place.
