I have two 1950’s 6hp Wizard motors and would like to find someone in the Sandusky/Toledo, Ohio area to get one of the two motors in running condition.

I have a lot of old motors and I find that getting them to run is the best part of the hobby. I do it myself, if you do find someone to fix the motor it may coast more than you think its worth.

It may be helpful to identify your Wizards by model. There are several
models made by Kiekhaefer (Mercury) which are somewhat similar to Mercurys so basic parts are same. By the latter part of 1950s Wizards
were no longer made by Kiekhaefer. The later Wizards are base on the
different companies designs, so are unlike those made by Kiekhaefer.
What it will take to restore your motors to operation depends upon what
might have bee wrong when they were put away, how well they were
prepared for storage AND the conditions under which they were stored. At a minimum the water pump impeller should be replaced and
points cleaned. It is not unknown for long stored motors to be stuck
which is not a good thing. and it will add to time and effort needed to
          make it run again.
Many old outboards show signs of unskilled hands …most likely a 12
year old with a rusty pair of pliers and a bent screwdriver.
