Here’s a couple Eisemann magneto outboard applications I had on file, if anyone is interested.

That looks to be the coil. This was posted
by MAS in 2014. I believe he was as successful.
Others have also attempted this but they
weren’t successful. You are not the first to be
looking for a solution to replace this coil as
it is often bad. If you do attempt this taking
pictures with explanations would be helpful
for others in the same position, if you succeed.
Good luck.

OK….so is it the same Pony Coil that will work on the WICO mag that OP hondaatc has that will also work on the Eisemann 62D Mag that I have on my T600?
Are both mags suffering from the same hard-to-find coil issue?
I guess my real question is which coil would be a work-a-round for the Eisemann 62D mag?
May 9, 2022 at 2:57 pm #259632The JD pony coil should work on the Eisemann 62D magneto with the modified laminations. I believe some others have also tried using a Briggs & Stratton twin cylinder lawnmower coil. As Tubs noted, some folks have had success with the pony coil or B&S conversion whereas some others have not.
You are correct that both the Wico and Eisemann coils are hard to find parts. There are a couple sources out there for the Eisemann coils used in the old Maytag motors but those typically used the 72D magneto and I don’t know if those would interchange with your 62D magneto. I do know the coils used on the 62D and 72D mags have different part numbers which might suggest a different configuration or they could just be different numbers solely due to the different magneto numbers.

My Waterwitch twin’s have this coil. Is it
similar to either of your coils? Are the coils in
both your motors similar as to possibly coming
from the same supplier?

Would you mind posting some pics of each magneto arrangement; the WICO and the Eisemann?

May 12, 2022 at 9:08 pm #259754Ok got some good news and some bad news first the good i looked into the suggestion of trying standard magneto and they to my surprise have the wico coils for the lauson twin so i have one on order $65 plus shipping now for the bad they no longer offer the eisemann coils but he did say that the coil for a maytag model 72 twin will work now i have two lauson twins with both ignition so when i get the wico coil I’m going to see if i can make it fit the eisemann ignition by modifying if it looks close enough I’ll update as soon as i receive the new wico replacement attached is a picture of said coil from they site
