      GENTLEMEN…I HAVE A COMPLETE AND GOOD MAG ASSEMBLY FROM A 1972 EVINRUDE 4 HORSEPOWER WITH THE SIDE THROTTLE CONTROL LEVER.CAN I SWAP THIS ASSEMLY AND INSTALL ON A 1962 EVINRUDE 3 HORSEPOWER,OR JUST BETTER TO SWAP THE COILS,POINTS AND CONDENSERS.ALSO,THE FLYWHEEL NUT TORQUE WAS 40LBS.ON THE 4 HORSEPOWER.IS THE FLYWHEEL TORQUE 40 LBS.ON THE 3 HORSEPOWER AS WELL?THANKS,BOB

        The plate itself should swap, but you’d need to swap around the underside bits from the early plate to the later plate.

          thanks…there is going to be some difference in the plug lengths,but that can be remedied if they are not to short.Is the torque for the flywheel nut at 40 lbs.for the lightwin 3 hp.?
