      I’m coming into the home stretch of a dual outboard project.  Twin Mark 78A’s on a 1958 Glastron Seaflite.

      The second faceplate is one of the replacement plates Mercury offered for this series of motors.  It says “merc” instead of “Mark” and has a decal that says “78A.”  I think the plate is stamped aluminum rather than the cast original.

        super project & nice work! I still have some Mark 78 parts but no front covers, sorry wish I did. You might try Joe Poole on the web. His Dad had a Mercury dealership from back in the 50’s. Look up Fergosoon Poole on the web, Joe has many parts from the dealership. Good luck & great project!  Love it, no shift cables.
