      Go to eBay and look at this KG4 if your motor looks like this below the tank you have KG7, KF7, KE7 or KG4 the carburetor you have is standard on KG7

        your pic IS a KE4 Mark7 motor not a KG4 so the AJ23 is the carb for it.

            That is a KE4 for sure, strange it runs good with a oversize carburetor . You could make a spring just look a photo of AJ23A carb.

              To me it looks like the choke plate should be flipped as in Dave Bernards picture. That way it would open further than it does in your picture.

                One photo of the engine block will answer all the questions. The KG-4 was a Hurricane block, while the KE-4 was much different. Two cylinders, water jackets, etc.

                  As usual Dave is correct! Be sure your choke plate is very flat as well.
