I acquired A Merc Tronic model 7100 CDI tester. On the Rx1 scale I can’t get get it to zero all the way to the right. Also on the condenser series resistance test, I can’t even get the needle to move to set it. Keep in mind there is no battery to replace. This may be over kill but I would use it for testing or should I use it for a conversation piece. I’ve seen a lot of the 98 testers but never a model 7100. Can someone shed some light on this?
      Thanks , Matt.

I’m not familiar with that model but are you adjusting the small plastic screw in the bottom of the gauge itself? Maybe someone will here will have the manual for it. The 9800 models have two needle adjustments depending on the use.
