I have a 1965 9.8HP Mercury 110 that I recently picked up. The tiller has a rubber bushing between the two main sections. It seems to me that this is supposed to be bonded to the two aluminum sections of the tiller, but this one is loose, allowing the front piece to rotate a bit, and has a bit more slop than I would like. How were these originally stuck in there? What do you think would be a good adhesive for this?

      Thanks,

      David

vulcanized. use gorilla glue then drill and tap the outer housing and add set screws to help hold it from turning. just an idea.
