      Anyone know anything about Mercury Sailmaster outboards, picked one up today and can’t find serial number, newer than I’m used to. Anyone know where number would be. It’s a long shaft and was cheap, faded outside clean under hood. Jim

        Hi James,
        I think you are asking about a 1986-89 offered 210cc Sailpower. The serial number was factory placed on the starboard side of the swivel bracket on likely a decal. A matching cylinder block serial number I think is on the starboard side (of the cylinder block – ? on a casting plug). They were basically a 20" or 25" Merc 9.9 horsepower with factory installed battery charging coil and rectifier, and a low pitch propeller suited for use on a sailboat.
