I just dug out an inline six that I’ve had in storage for several years. I think it’s between 85 and 115 horsepower….probably 1980’s vintage. I tested the compression and it reads: 155, 168, 160, 160, 165, 160. I never knew that the compression was that high on those motors. Is that normal? It is a short block. I removed the inspection covers, and the pistons look like new. Anyway, I’ll probably be selling it somewhere down the line.

      Any comments will be appreciated.

      Thanks,
      Jim

        Jim,
Very good comp & normal, Look on the very top cylinder for I.D. numbers.

Thanks, Jeff…..how have you been. I sold you a motor a few years ago….I think it was a Firestone or Scott.

I just checked the numbers on the top cylinder. It looks like 852 7738
