      I have just re-assembled a Tillotson AJ23A carb after rebuilding and I was hoping you guys could tell me if I got it right.

      Looking from the top down, facing the engine

      The spring on the throttle shaft is tension to open the butterfly (clockwise) with spring return (counter clockwise)

              “We don’t need no stinking”………. picture. You got it right, the throttle opens clockwise, the spring snaps it shut counter clockwise. All the early green-tank Mercs work the same.
