      Does anyone have a method for removing the lower unit from the transom. The manual states you need a special tool but i thought i read where you could make one.

        should be a hole in the swivel tube . call me 1 914 310 7086.

          I you referring to the clamp and swivel assembly? There is a long pin that holds the drive shaft housing to the clamp assembly. The pin is threaded at the top. I use a long bolt and thread it in and secure the head of the bolt in a vice and then just tap it out. The last one I did was 3/4 by fine thread. Came right out.

            I dont think mine is 3/4″ Fine thread. Can anyone verify the thread size?
