September 16, 2023 at 9:29 pm #280667Yes I agree, Joe is a great guy. Look on the web. Joe also has many other mercury parts, He has been in business over 50 years with his Dad & Mom.
September 17, 2023 at 7:37 am #280671Search Brian Wilcox on Johns Old Mercury site. He makes replacements if you have the core. He is in Michigan and is a member of AOMCI address in the Inner Sanctum.
September 17, 2023 at 12:09 pm #280674John McIntosh has them listed on his site; I don’t know if he actually has any. 47-21164 is what it shows in my parts listing. Fits the KG-7, KF-7, and KG-4 .

I have read that an impeller for a KG-7, KF-7, KG-4, and some Wizards (Mercury 47-21164) can be made from a Sierra 18-3051 (OMC 395289). You need to modify the height but that should be easy enough to do. Verify this information; it is in my notes.
Odd that OldMercs does not respond.

November 16, 2025 at 12:29 pm #301563Seakaye12 is correct. This impeller also fits Merc 200 (20 hp) from 70’s and 80’s. Yep, too tall, just take a slice off of it. Clearance is not real critical. Good luck.
"Fox News" isn't.

I got one one those impellers and sanded it down but decided not to use it. Those raised portions are meant to make a seal against the cover and inside the cartage so I feel the thickness does matter. I think I got the thickness OK. The problem I have with this modification is you end up removing all the rubber from the brass center. Now the brass is in contact with the aluminum, no mater which you face it. I couldn’t come up with a way to remove some of the brass from the center, so I sent a couple of bad impellers to Brian. I take them out while changing the gear lube when I’m done running one of these motors for the season. They’re really easy to get at on these.
