      Guys,

I will pose a question to all you Mercury Guru’s as to what the proper name for this color is for the 1956 – 1959 Mercury color combinations ?  The choices for the four different shades of blue are

      1. Sarasota Blue
      2. Marlin Blue
      3. Bimini Blue
      4. Golf Blue

The lower mid section is Creme

          Thanks Dave,

According to Mercurys official color chart you are correct !  But if you do a search for the color Bimini Blue Paint, you will see most manufactures show a Sky Blue color or a variation of it ! The Question came about during a conversation with one of our members when I made the comment “I really liked the color combination of Bimini Blue and Creme of the late 50’s Mercury engines” ! My good friend said, “But that’s not Bimini Blue it’s Sarasota Blue ! And that’s what started the argument LOL !  Being you are the first to reply to my question, I still challenge other members what their thoughts are on the topic ?

So this poses the question, did Mercury miss name this color?  Or are all these other paint manufactures wrong in their name of the color ?

It is Sarasota Blue, definitely not any of the other blue colors you noted.
