Keep in mind it depends who built the boat . Some of these boats are built by amatures and have a dip in the bow that catches water and will make the boat head for the bottom. Others don’t make sure the bottom is straight to the bow . Never cut the holes on the inside of the cockpit to lighten the boat per the plans .If a wave is taken over the bow it fills the side compartments and the boat sinks . I had a 25 hp Evinrude on mine that my Dad and I built and never even got startled at full speed ,Went great and handled great . We added 2 slalom ski skegs amid ships witch made the boat turn well but lost a 1mile per hr . No biggie! The center runner must be made of hard wood to keep the bottom straight. Dad was a nautical engineer on hull design. Boat did 32 mph and safe . Must use tiller cable steering and controls to be safe. Dont be afraid to use a 25 hp I still had freeboard in the stern when boat was at rest. Driver must weigh under 150 lbs with a 3 gal tank in the back. Good luck !!!

We really need to see some pics of your boat…..

Posting pics here is easy as long as the files are not too large. I believe the MAX file size is 2.44MB. As long as your pics are less than that….just click on “Select File” at the bottom of your screen (below where you enter the text ) and it will bring up the file directories on your computer. Find your file and double-click on it and that should do it.

              If you have questions….ask.

I believe you have your motors confused he is running a 1956 15 horse fastwin 19.5ci I believe cosmetically similar to the bigtwin lark but smaller. The scale of engine to hull is just making it look much larger and the fastwins are large cowled for there size motor.
