Just picked up a Model 54GG9011 but have no other information on it. Wondering if a Sea King enthusiast might
have some information by the model # that would share it with me to identify it? I’m guessing early 50’s and 4-5hp.
      Thanks in advance!

Reverse the "54" and you get "45"–the year it was built, 1945, five horsepower. They were made by Gale Products Division of OMC. Gale division produced motosr for mail-order stores like Wards and Speigle. The magneto is the same as Johnson motors of the era, but that’s about all. Evinrude did make a similar model, but they are nowhere near as plentiful as the Gales. Simple but tough motors that refuse to die.

Thank you very much, FrankR. It is not in good condition, but hope get it back running soon. Going to need some parts,
and good to know what it is. Thank you.

Ahh yes. An old wedge 5. Still a lot of them around and easy to run. I have a ’47 model myself
