I saw this motor for sale on my local Craigslist but I’m not sure what it is and the seller has no idea either.   Anyone have an ID?

It looks similar to my 1950 Fastwin, but has differences.

        Prepare to be boarded!

Johnson Model SD, the profile of the powerhead and the water outlets in the prop are a dead giveaway.

Thanks for the ID.   If I find it’s not seized up I may go ahead and pick it up.

Yup its an SD of some vintage.  Some of those old girls had a pressure tank mounted on the motor.  Direct drive and vacuum cooling.  I can just make out the holes in the prop.  They were made in the late 40’s.  I have an SD20  1950  16hp.  I had a heck of a time finding a twist grip, Fisherman6  fixed me up with one.   It should make you a good project.  Looks like it is all there.

I haven’t taken on a new project in quite awhile now, so the bug has started itching me again.    Waiting to get a little more info from the seller.
