Brook, could he use the flywheel and magneto plate from an Evinrude single on this motor? (assuming it would be set up to run on battery ignition). I don’t know for a fact that they’re interchangeable WRT fit on the crankshaft taper and so forth, but I’m assuming they would be. That would open up more possibilities for finding parts that will fit and work.
Just my thoughts, not anybody elses….
Michael;
Where in Canada are you located? Armpit of Ontario here. Feel free to contact me if I can help with getting your motor going. I had my Evinrude LAT running on the lake last year. I had it firing on battery ignition using the original magneto plate and just using the contact points to complete the circuit to fire the buzz coils. Lets see if I can post this link now, the site was acting up a few minutes ago…

Lemme know if you need a hand with it, looks like some small parts are missing and I can prolly help out with that much anyway.
Best,

I believe he could use a magneto plate from a single if it were to be run on battery ignition.
One of mine I run on battery. The other one very much to my surprise is still running on
It’s original mag. ( very surprising )
As far as the flywheel goes I believe a single flywheel will physically fit but balancing & timing
may be an issue as I have never tried it.Respectfully,

June 29, 2021 at 3:04 pm #241560AnonymousHi guys,
Thank you very much for your discussion regarding my missing electrical parts. The video was wonderful to watch and I hope someday to get this old guy running just as well. I am in NB and we are fortunate enough to have a cottage on a wonderful river system and I would hope to someday soon go out for little spin with this motor. I am quite new to this generation of motor so any suggestions as I start the process is greatly appreciated. I have found the manuals and will be getting familiar with them in the near future. Once I understand what I am missing I will begin the search.
Take care and thanks again
