      What is the purpose of that brass cap on bottom and I think it has a small ball up inside it but does anything else belong there to help pump water better

        A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

          I am still wondering what that brass cap does on the bottom of my motor.. It seems to have a small ball up inside it . What does it do. That is my only question .
