Got a Folding N awhile ago. A rough one missing
some parts including the carburetor. If it had one
it would likely be broken as this is from the time
when the pot metal would swell, become brittle,
and break apart. This replacement is from a later
Neptune but is the same except for the bracket
that would hold a choke cable. I may cut it off at
a later date. 1 day of soaking and 2 days of
cleaning in between other projects I have going.

        Tubs,

Really nice work. What do you use to soak your carbs?

            That was one crusty carb.

Soaked in Gunk carb cleaner. It takes off the crud
from and in the carb body but its still discolored.
I removed the black coating with any number of
solvents, cleaners, pads, sand paper, and brushes.
My system is mostly a little of this and a little
              of that.

Guess I’ll have to work a little harder on my next carb overhaul and cleanup to get all the discoloration off it. Just finished a carb overhaul on my Johnson CD-11 and just painted it with a cast aluminum paint to freshen it up.

                    Its still nicely detailed.
Not just put together and sprayed.
Up keep can be less with paint.
In time yours could look lots better than mine.

Looks great. Having the same motor and missing carb completely I was curious what one even looked like. How will you mount it to the engine, mine just has the snout for a clamp on carb. Is there an adapter?
