need help identifying a motor

Looks to me like a 48-51 Neptune 3.3hp alternate firing twin. Another member just asked for identification of one of these.

Does it have the unusual marble looking tiller grip? Not a common motor.

It is a Neptune Your lucky to have the cowlings your model and serial numbers are on the face plate. AA2 AA4 AA6 AA10 hp.

Nice unit The only thing that looks missing is a control knob. They can be found at a good hardware store usually in black and will need to be painted. If you still have the plastic marbled tiller grip it can and will need to be repaired in place, don’t try to remove it. they are MIA NLA anywhere!. I can’t read the tag but it looks like a AA4 that is a 5hp a rare unit and worth saving. 1948-49 Later models were shift units. Guys the AA2 is a single cylinder 3.3hp
