Hey friends. I got a Neptune Muncie today, and the owner wasn’t positive on the year, and Im wondering if you guys could help me out and with tech specs? on the Top plate its “Model AA1” and the Serial is 318UU and there is a small “J” that is before the 3 and floats a little above it. The owner thought its a 1947, or a 48. If anyone has some tips or can fill me in.. Much appreciated!

I’m not seeing your model on the list, but maybe it’s there somehow!
It does mention AA in the footnotes, they being the “Deluxe” models
with rewind and hood.

Perhaps you AA1 is newer than you thought.
Just looked in my records, and I actual have one myself, lol,
and mine is a 1956.
Does yours look the same?
If AA still denoted “deluxe” in 1956, I’m confused, as
I don’t see that mine ever would have had a rewind.

I just found this filed away. Looks like our motors are 1956.
Note the “note” on the AA desination.

Mine looks fairly similar, except my fuel tank is more rounded, like the tank on a 41″ Muncie. but the rest is very very close in resemblance. I just got this today so I need to do some homework! if it wouldn’t be to much of a bother, could I ask you to take a few pictures from the front of the Carburetor. a few small things are missing in the front on mine, and the 2nd part of the cowling. Thank you for the information!

Another photo, if you kinda see (not a great angle) but in front of the float bowl, some things are missing. I need to find the right model year so I can start seeing what ALL I need to replace or try to hunt down without going broke

Thank you Very much! That helps out a LOT! I had a gentlemen tell me a little bit what you said, about the AA being a deluxe model, I’m still looking for an exact year, but they confirmed too, its a 55-56. This is what the front of mine looks like same carb model.

In the picture, the Yellow arrow, is that a plate that goes over the carb? Is it opened at the bottom, or just has that open opening for that screw? In the Red arrows are the pieces I am missing, along with that carb plate. so those might be really fun trying to track down! Besides those and the 2nd cowl piece, I believe those are the only parts that are actually missing! That I am aware of. The lady I got it from found it in a junk yard!
