I have a 1957 12′ Alumacraft that has no drain plug in it, whatsoever. I know yours is a different, longer model; but being close in year, it may have been close in design philosophy. It MAY not have had a plug from the factory….? By the way, that is a NICE boat! I love my 12.
Long live American manufacturing!
September 17, 2015 at 11:20 am #24085Deer – Funny, I didn’t even see it when I took the photos.
They’re in the yard just about every day. Lately eating
crab apples.Truck- Restored the truck a few years ago, and decided body work
wasn’t for me……. besides, outboard take up less room!Trailer Lights- Excellent idea about having a ready made towing
lights sets. Didn’t U-Haul use to have magnetic ones?
Will have too look and see if that type of tail light housings
are available.Thanks !
Prepare to be boarded!
September 17, 2015 at 11:17 pm #24118I threw the Evinrude 9.5 in the test barrel today.
Few pulls and it started right up. Power head does
flop around quite a bit. Noticed there’s suppose to be
a rubber bumper on each side of the power head that
rides on the lower cowling. One is missing.
Will have to see if I can locate the aforementioned "rubber engine mounts"
that are prone to trouble.
At least it ran good, shifted, and pumped water, so that’s a good start!Prepare to be boarded!
September 17, 2015 at 11:35 pm #24120Looks like an AlumaCraft Model F. 14ft.
September 18, 2015 at 12:25 am #24124Yeah I actually keep magnetic, WIRELESS trailer lights in my truck, in case I ever buy a side of the road relic 😉
September 18, 2015 at 2:22 am #24127VinTin, There’s no transom tag, so I’m glad you came up with a model.
Thanks!
P.S.- Looked at photos on model F’s on the Net, and they all had aluminum
seats, mine are wood. Mines says 1958 on the registration, but who knows!Prepare to be boarded!
September 18, 2015 at 10:38 pm #24162September 18, 2015 at 11:19 pm #24165I got motor mounts from Dan Gano at Ganotech. If you replace them, the tramsom clamps will be the only thing left on the stand.
September 19, 2015 at 9:53 pm #24218I haven’t had time to look at a manual yet, but is it hard to replace
the rubber motor mounts on this outboards?Prepare to be boarded!

They could come in handy but I ended getting the red light special ones for a friends trailer.
