Oh wow, you got lucky. Those coils have been replaced and should be just fine. But tuck the ground wires back so there is no chance of rubbing on the flywheel hub.

I wouldn’t replace a thing…..just clean and adjust the carb, check the fuel lines and start cranking. You might get lucky and have a good runner "out of the box"..

+3 on that. Your ignition system looks great. Clean and adjust the points and call it good.

Are those the tall 581419 condensers in it? The new replacement coils should be matched up with the short 580321 ones.

                Thanks guys.
Mumbles. The condensors in the motor are taller than a new kit I have for a BigTwin.
What happens if you put shorter condensers in?
Anyone know flywheel nut torque specs?

Your new condensers should work just fine. Torque is 40-45 foot pounds.

When I looked up your model number it said 1951-52 so I included the ’52 ads also.

                      Great ads Steve D. Thanks.

Found one unfortunate situation on the motor. Lower end gear case had water in it.
Drained it. Swabbed out what crud I could with Q-Tips and added new gear oil.

Oh yeah, that motor has those funky seals without a metal shell. I suppose new ones are ok, but old ones prone to leak. I guess 65 years qualifies for "old".
