      Here are few pics of a 1955 FD with steering deck I recently sold. Note the steering deck can be moved to drive from the front of the boat, but not the front deck. Do as VinTin suggested, put the steering console to the back of the boat, especially with no electric start. Much better speed and handling. The steering deck for these boats are kind of rare, so if you find one be prepared to spend some coin!

        That is a very nice FD!
        Attached is from the 1957 Aluma Craft catalog. Looks like the F is rated for 20hp.

        A 1957 18hp Electric start OMC motor would be optimal, unless you are a Merc man.
