So sorry Jeff…My condolences indeed.  Wish I had some idea about moto guzzi values, but don’t.  Perhaps you can find some specially group related to those bikes online to help you out…

All the best, take care… Don

My condolences to you and your family for your loss.

I suggest reaching out to Caille Special Interest Group Leader Randy Kallevig as he may be able to provide some insight on the Italian motorcycle, or perhaps be able to point you toward someone who can.

        Best,

He's livin' in his own private Idaho..... I hope to go out quietly in my sleep, like my grand-dad did..... and not screaming, like the passengers in his car...

I know this is a bit late but, First sorry for your loss. First question is which one? My brother in 1978 bought an SP 1000 and in 1979 I bought a Mercury Capri (fox body) at the time they were the same price (aprox 5K give or take). Some 20-30 years ago I received it as a basket case and put it back together. The big question is it the le-mans (spelling?) 850? That one is worth more. There are various sites that would estimate it’s worth. Second question is does it start? (I recall a weird folding ignition key.) there is no Kick starter so in First gear check if the pistons will move. (If it hasn’t run best to get lubricant in there.) Review the wiring because that is a weak point especially at its age. Cool shaft drive bike and as a 90 degree twin sounds like a Harley. they will defiantly will be worth more when they stop importing them.

            Again sorry for your loss,

            Chris

              Hey Jeff,

Sorry to hear about your brother.   I’ve handled family estates a couple times, so I have some idea of the hassle you are going through.

Moto Guzzis have a book value you can look up online going all the way back to 1921 at the link below.  JD Power is part of the old NADA book value site that most dealers use.  https://www.jdpower.com/motorcycles/moto-guzzi

Note that this site also lists book values for outboard motors.   It lists most models back to 1974.  Go to this link for outboard prices:  https://www.jdpower.com/boats/outboard-motors

At those sites, do NOT click on a rectangular box that says it will take you to NADA values if it shows up – that is an ad that will likely want to install a new browser in your computer before it goes anywhere.

              Good Luck!

              Dave

Thank you everyone! It has been very slow finishing the estate. My brother never paid his bills & I paid for his burial. The motorcycle was stolen from his house during probate, 100 miles away from my home & I still waiting on probate to see if I get any return for the law costs etc.
We had a terrable childhood & he never recovered. couldn’t wair to ger out of the house. I pumped gas & lived in boats till I could get a roof over my head. Maybe thats why I love boats so much!
                Jeff
