I have a 1952 Evinrude Lightwin (3hp) model 3012 s/n 08296. Just beginning disassembly and noticed that there appears to be no oil slinger (0301781) on my motor.
Was the 1952 Lightwin made without this part?
The armature plate is dry and pretty clean on the bottom surface.
      Thanks for the help.

The slinger is there, just almost out of sight. You can see the top ridge of it between the crankshaft and crankcase.

Well, you helped me out again Frank. I sit here a bit red faced. Thanks again, for your help.
BTW…..I went out to take a closer look and what did I discover???? The little clip that retains the point set on it’s post. It was wedged down in there and took a dental pick to get it out.
Looked at the mag and one set of points had a “shade tree” retainer. on it.
          Thanks again.
