Any idea what this is/what it came with? A buddy found it cleaning out his dad’s garage and gave it to me. Pressure pump is built into the cap…..

      Thanks!

I say "pardon me" a lot. I had a 20H, then raced open mod sleds.

I don’t think it’s a pressure tank. I got one similar with a Mercury super 5 that has a fuel cap with a hose barb to fill the onboard tank when you pump the plunger. Not sure if this was a factory accessory or aftermarket.

Not sure if its factory or homemade, but maybe an early alternative to the primer bulb? Someone didn’t want to copy the primer bulb technology yet? Obviously a blend of old (pressure tank) and newer (single line) technology.

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

mercury had them for the green tank race motors ( gravity feed tanks and carb) . they used them in marathon races to fill on the move. motor hd a special tank cap that the hose was hooked to. it was factory. late 40’s early 50’s.

I know about the factory caps but are you saying that’s a Mercury tank, too?

                Long live American manufacturing!

That looks like a champion tank maybe? With that pump, it looks like it was used to refuel a square tank motor while on the fly. If you watch those old racing video’s you can see those guys pumping a handle to keep the motor refueled during a race. Garry could that be right?

Yes I’m sure Dave has it. Mercury Marathon tank for refueling the green tank on a long run. Seems to me I have a cap for that very purpose. I think Joe Poole told me about them.
