Haven’t really seen too many of these. I don’t own an oliver but am curious about these cans. This one has two similar looking metal knobs on the top. I assume one is used to pressurize the tank and the other must be a fill cap of sorts?

Anybody have info on them? Are rebuild (diaphragm, etc) parts still available for these?
      Thanks!

Very cool item. It looks to me like maybe the pump device would take the place of a primer bulb, rather than pressurize the tank? Anyway, if that tank gets, or is, dirty, you can sure as heck get your hands in there to clean it out! Nice design, I think!

        Long live American manufacturing!

I would say that Bill is right about the pump instead of a inline primer bulb because I have a 1959 , 16hp Oliver and it has a fuel pump
I use a OMC tank and have fitted the motor with a OMC male single

              That’s not a cover on it. It’s a hatch!

This is a Vintage Oliver outboard motor Fuel tank with a very rare fuel fitting. This tank was made for the first Oliver outboards in about 1955. The first ones had this 2 prong style fitting, the later 55″s had the air compressor style fittings. There is a picture of both style motors in the listing. The tank has some surface rust on it. The inside is dirty and would be cleaned to use. The plunger does move up and down. I have not used this tank. The end of the carry handle is broke off on one end. Hopefully you can judge condition by the photos. Please ask all questions before bidding. Shipping will be $20 in the US
