I’m planning on setting up a Crestliner Viking14 boat with dual motors. I’m looking at using either 10, 15, or 18 HP, 1950’s OMC motors, and may briefly try a pair of 35s – just becasue I can. ( I don’t care about being the fastest boat around, I just like the coolness of a dual setup. I just bought the correct Johnson SImplex dual remote throttle and gearshift remote controls on Craigslist. I intend to fab my own dual hookups for cable and pulley steering – unless someone is willing to sell a set at fair price.
I’m looking for photos of what others have used for dual OMC steering hookups.
Thanks,

May 16, 2020 at 4:47 pm #203243Thanks Guys, all the posts here was just what I needed! I should be able to make something up now.
DaveMay 16, 2020 at 5:41 pm #203247What is the diameter of that bent rod? I’m assuming it’s steel.
DaveMay 16, 2020 at 5:45 pm #203248It’s stainless steel. Diameter, I don’t remember. 5/16″?????
May 17, 2020 at 10:41 am #203289Sweet setup Lloyd. What model Alumacraft is that?
May 17, 2020 at 12:31 pm #203310I’ve rigged twins with cable steering. It’s easy enough. Has anyone rigged twin OMC’s with rack and pinion steering? I’ve seen it done successfully, but didn’t take photos. The geometry has to be just right or it doesn’t work.

May 17, 2020 at 2:03 pm #203321Alumacraft Super CS. Took me a long time to find those two Original Javelins and fabricate and rig all the details. Running lights, steering, paint, decals, seating, bilge pump, trailer, etc. I had a blast with it here on the lake and at Tomahawk. I have 5 Alumacrafts at my pole Barn. Going to have to sell it and several more. Getting too old to keep up with all of them. Got any leads?
