      Hi All

What is the part number for the OMC flywheel puller for smaller outboards? Tired of wrestling with the HF puller.

378103 is the OMC part number.  This set really is a must if you are working on the older OMCs, especially 10hp and up models.

OMC puller can be made if you have a lathe, mill, stock and desire. Prototype to try out an idea.

People that use, and think they are okay with, a harmonic balancer puller, simply don’t have any IDEA how much less aggravating life COULD be, with an OMC puller. They are worth what you pay for them and a whole lot more. It may very well be the best-made, most reliable tool I own; and I own a LOT of tools.

I agree 100%  that proper tools facilitate the work at hand … Granpa always said    “Buy the best  quality  tools you can  & they will last  you a lifetime ”  yet  some tools are more expensive than oldies,   that said  the  harmonic pullers will do the job  for  the occasionnal servicing of the magneto especially when  one does not have a barn full of motors !

I have splurged on the  timing tool pointer  for my  cd ad and qd work  and love it but my  $20 VOM was just as accurate on it’s own…   let alone setting points at .020 on the high spot of the cam for  $0.00.

As with anything… do I realy need it ?  at what frequency will I use it ? it becomes a personal  decision at some point.

tough to argue with sound logic.
