Don’t know the actual facts, so I won’t guess at just what is going on with BRP. My dealer buddy can still get parts though, he claims they have halted production due to some new product type that is being developed…But, who knows…

April 25, 2021 at 3:20 pm #237035OMC did go Bankrupt December 23 2000. A very fine Christmas present for customers, dealers , employees and stockholders. In about February 2001 Bombardier purchased the outboard portion of OMC. About 2008 Bombardier rebranded as Bombardier Recreational Products the entire company except planes and trains. BRP as they are known has been a disaster call em BuRP. In 2007 the last Johnson outboards were built and last May or June the last Evinrudes were produced. Has been talk of a new technology but no news yet. As of two weeks ago the BuRP web site has had errors on the parts look up and would not work. As of now 12:18 PDT 04/25/2021 it still will not work.
April 25, 2021 at 5:21 pm #237053Well, shucks. Sad to hear this tragedy. In my opinion, OMC was always the best.
Unfortunately, OMC started dying a slow death, when the 18’s and other corresponding models were discontinued. This was about 1973.
The late ’50’s were the best motors.
Again, Ole and Bess should be spinning in their graves.
I imagine Merc will meet the same fate. Hopefully not.April 25, 2021 at 5:24 pm #237054In my area, I have seen some classic outboard dealers go along the wayside. This and environmental factors most likely played a part in it.

The web developer was probably the same flunkies that set up the website for the “unaffordable care act”
🤣😂😆😅😄😃April 28, 2021 at 1:04 pm #237315Bombardier has major financial problems company wide. My impression is that they were screwed over by Boeing over trying to enter the smaller airliner business.
I’ve not heard much about their intentions regarding support of legacy outboard products. Anybody know?
April 28, 2021 at 2:47 pm #237321As I recall Being blocked them from the US Market so Bombardier sold their …really good plane design to Airbus. Now Airbus got to build the planes built in the US to circumvent ” not US built” objections
The A220 is now selling great from what I here
The train business was sold to Allstrom…..
The Outboard business was shut down
now they sell small 3 wheel road bikes and ATV’s …ski-doo’s and sea-doos I guess my shares went from $25 to nothing like Nortel and Bre-X
meanwhile back at the ranch they collected subsidies from the Gov. of Quebec , big wiggs got lots of bonus checks
Remember what the famous French actor Fernandel said…. ” Half the people are laughing at the other half ”
In conclusion…. we are all getting laughed at by somebody 🙂
