      Howdy, Boys:
When I was a kid of 11 years age I spent the summer of 1956 at Lakeland Evinrude (FLA), sweeping floors and dreaming of having my own OMC motor. George Rossen, the owner, would pay me cash of about $5 per week for pushing the broom, which I considered a small fortune. I’d get into old files and shelves while cleaning and sometimes I’d find something really neat. One of those neat things was an OMC catalog entitled “Evinrudes At Work”. It was full of action photos which were all black and white. The newest photo I can recall for sure was of a 1954 motor. But, there could have been a 1955 or two; it has been so long since I’ve seen one…………..
I remember clammers, oyster men, shrimpers, loggers, net boats etc., – all of them using and abusing Evinrude motors from the early to mid 50’s years. I kept my copy of this catalog for years, but finally, it disappeared – perhaps at the hand of my mother when I left for college
If anybody has one of these catalogs, I’d love to see it again.
If nobody has one, well, then you now know that such did exist………..
      Mike
