I have take apart and rebuilt a fair number of Early K Model Mercurys so I should know how to do it without a problem…not really. Yesterday I got tip of little finger left hand pinched because I failed to notice the clamp saddle assembly was free to swing due to a missing part.
It is still sensitive 24 hours later. The angry looking blood blister under tip of finger nail will
be a reminder for however long it takes to grow out.
A painful lesson due to being in too big a hurry/

For a blood blister, pop it before you go to bed, with a needle and cover with a wrap, ( to keep the blood from staining stuff), popping it will allow it to "dry, then the skin will fall off…

Took a month but little finger fully back to normal…no needle work!

Disturbed a nest of Yellow Jackets recently
without getting stung. Did that a few years ago,
I outran all but one of the swarm.
It tagged my hand…instant intense pain that
    took several days to fade.
