I have a ’57 Johnson 10hp QD18. I believe the colors are 57 Holiday Bronze and 57 Cream. My question is where can you get the authentic colors to do the painting?
Thanks.

'53 Sea King 3hpMarch 8, 2023 at 1:29 pm #273576North York Marine and Vintage Outboard Paint both have the original factory colors available. Both place offer high quality paint. Here’s my 1958 QD-19 done with NY Marine paint – they also have the original factory decal sets.

'53 Sea King 3hpMarch 8, 2023 at 1:55 pm #273580I bead blasted everything down to bare metal, then applied a self-etching primer followed by the color coats. I typically let the paint cure about a week before applying the decals. No clear coat over the color coats or decals.

March 9, 2023 at 12:01 am #273627I typically use rattle cans from Peter McDowell at NY Marine. Here’s a shot of a 1956 30hp I did with the his paint.
