Painting 1930’s Johnsons

Was everything painted silver but tanks and fly wheels?Was block and exhaust manifold painted with hi-temp paint or same as the rest?

What model motor are you working on? Some parts came painted or polished.

Working on KA38 and 1931 A50.Thanks for the library link.I’ll check it out.

The A50s steel parts are painted aluminum parts are polished. Might try scrubbing the paint may be ok on a lot of it just hidden under years of crud, at least mine was mostly ok.

how is it motors multiply when the garage lights get
turned off?

Most of the paint on mine is okay too.The power head is mostly devoid of paint after cleaning so I was thinking of painting it.The info in the members library says "light machinery gray" is that what yours is?whats left on mine just lucked kind of silver.
