I am hoping that a recently received incorrectly marked bronze (brass) propeller nut can be identified for fitment and part number: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lnqy3wwhdvr7 … VZyza?dl=0

It is about 2.27 inches front to back, 1.75 inches in front outside diameter, 1.346 inches in front inside diameter, has a 3/16 inch diameter cotter pin hole, and appears to have possibly a 5/8-24 internal thread.

Thank You in advance for any help.

      Regards,
      Joe

A "Boat House Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Just measured my KG7 nut, 1.63 " long, 1.37 " diameter and 1/2 X 13 thread. It must be for a larger engine say 25 hp.

Here’s a plastic one with similar dimensions. It’s off a ’65 or ’66 Sears 35 horse motor built by West Bend/Chrysler.

The replies are very greatly appreciated! With the fact that it was not recognized as an OMC product, which I first assumed it might be, and the thoughts that it might be Mercury, I am now pretty sure that it is for a 1949-50 Mercury KF9. It certainly is the correct thread. I did not consider this at first for any length, as I did not remember the propeller shaft being drilled to accept a cotter pin, being as a nylon insert lock (propeller) nut has very long been specified. Again, Thank You!

                    Regards,
                    Joe
