Anyone know for sure what part number for sure for the subject
motor. I only have parts diagrams for the earlier motors using
303467 gasket. …….. not sure if the 1960 is the same.
      Thanks!

My non-thermostat ’58 used that gasket. Same one as used on 54-55 CD’s.

I do have so Gale parts manuals here so I’ll try to confirm it if I have one for your motor. Do you have the model number handy?

Mumbles, the 1960 Sea King model number is GG8822A, (Gale 5D17B)

I found a list this morning for power head base gaskets up to 1959, for
Johnson and Evinrude, but they have a different block with the removeable
compression head, and the 1960 Gale version still has the headless
cylinders with the water jacket cover. I have no idea if the power head
base gaskets are the same for the JE and Gales or not.

          Thanks!

Interesting! Franks diagram shows it as a 306205 gasket which superceded to 313065 which were used on T-stat motors.

Gale must have made a design change around this time as the housing and it’s related parts look the same as the ones used on the ’56 and up JE motors, not like the ones used on the ’54 – ’55 JE’s as earlier Gales did.

                Thanks Frank and Mumbles!

I just looked up what said gasket looks like, and added notes to it
                for my records.

Thanks, might be a little cheaper on the shipping cost too.
