I recently got a 1957 Fastwin with a tank. I finally got a chance to spray the clear coat over the decal. Got to finish the motor now.

Great 1957 tank – looks like it was just shipped from the factory.

            Wedgie,

I had a bunch of Valspar Tractor and Implement paint from Tractor Supply left over from another project so I used what I had on hand. Color is International Harvester Red in rattle cans.

I sprayed the clear with some hardener with a gun after the paint cured for a couple weeks.

Looks really nice! I have a few of these that need restoration. I hope mine turn out as well as yours did.

When I did a couple tanks I found a rattle can clear with hardener, Spray Max 2K Glamour High Gloss Clear Coat 368 0061.
It did quite a bit – a 3, 4 and 6 gallon tank and the top & side cowls on a Gale 25hp, with a little left over for other small parts.

                  Vinyl decals?
