    Hello,

I have a 25hp 1969 Johnson (25R69D) that I believe has a spun prop. Is it worth trying to have the prop repaired or would I be better off replacing the prop? If replacement is the better option, does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement? Would it be wise to stick with a factory prop or is an aftermarket part the better option?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Spun hub can be replaced if you wish.

I would consider the overall condition of the item in deciding a hub pressed in.

If the prop is well worn and worn well original………consider a replacement.

A new prop makes the boat so much better!!!!!!

Should be easy to get a new one.

If you are happy with the original dia x pitch do not change the replacement prop for something with different measurements.

    Cheers

    BnC

Thanks for the info collectorinspector. I think that will go ahead just buy a new prop. These are the two props that I was looking at that have the same dia x pitch as my current prop:

    Michigan Match

    EVINRUDE/JOHNSON

Are there any disadvantages or advantages to buying an aftermarket prop like the Michigan Match vs a factory prop? I guess my main concern is quality.
