      Hi Everyone,

I’ve search to the end of the internet and I can’t seem to find the answer to this question, so I’m turning to you,  the experts!

What is the proper orientation of this prop seal? Part number 26-90562. Please see pictures labeled “Side 1” and “Side 2” for clarity. The old seal was oriented with “Side 2” facing aft (water side).

Every thing I’ve found on this topic is in reference to an outboard with 2 prop seals, but I cannot find definitive guidance on the orientation of a single prop seal.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe that I’ve heard it said that;  generally speaking,  the “open” side of the seal….with the spring….typically faces the fluid you want to contain.

That’s the general guidance I keep seeing. I’ll go with that. Thanks!
