Ben You can still get that seal http://www.marineengine.com/newparts/pa … OMC0302495
Or you can use a National seals part #471264 or I can send you a few NOS one’s.

Looks nice mumbles, but where did you find that reducing bushing?

It got spun out of a piece of round aluminum stock.

Wow is it just me or have others found that MarineEngine’s prices have gone up a lot recently?

Yes, they are getting ridiculous on some things. I guess they can do that when they pretty much have the monopoly on old NOS parts.

Last summer it cost nearly $75 for shipping to come from Seattle for $70 worth of parts. They wont ship USPS but instead use the brown trucks (UPS) which charge extra for everything when importing. It wasn’t my boat I was working on but the owner needed it right away so she had to pay, pay, pay.

I just bought a drop of aluminum tubing and I plan to spin a few out myself. It seems this is likely the best route to go. If the tubing doesn’t work I’ll make a few out of solid bar stock. Hoping I can get away with boring about 0.062" out of the ID of the tubing and have it. Cut to length and square the ends and a light chamfer on the corners and press it in there.

A drop or two of Loctite 609 Bearing Mount or something similar on the outside of the reducer will help to hold it in place and seal it at the same time.
