Sorry Steve A W. It’s supposed to be English. But since I’m french from France, I’m far from perfect writing / speaking it 😀

I think he is talking about the computer jargon 😉

Funny this engine. It’s quite well designed.
I really appreciate the fact the pads on the stern bracket are removables. First time I see it on a small outboard and it helps for restauration.
But it’s a Firestone, not a "real" Scott Atwater", so some details are cheap.
For exemple, there’s paint over the bare metal, without primer. So I have to sand everything to metal to have a correct paint job …

I also don’t like the zincked tube to ajust the angle.
It slides metal to metal and is quickly damaged.
Maybe I’ll change it for a polished stainless tube with some teflon.

I found the seals at the local SKF store.
Timken 471442 for the gear box (5,78 $ CAD), and 312518 for the head (6,61 $ CAD).
I will have this one tomorrow. Not exactly the same height (1/8 instead of 3/16) , but it should fit.
Not as expensive than on the website above.

Working on the first part. Usual thing. Correct casting defects and filling holes.

Canadian Tire has some nice products.
But their Bondo is a piece of shit ..
Too bad I just have a bike, so too lazy going to a real store 10 km for some good and cheap putty.
Don’t even ask for a high end like the Rage ! 😛
            At least, it’s works.

For just an outboard, it’s ok. For a full car, don’t use it !
            It’s a pain to sand.

The Duplicolor primer / filler is great.

Any idea for the color code ?
            Thanks.

That’s just something I can’t get my wrench bending mind
              to wrap around.

you’re welcome Frank. I’ll try to get a better scan of them. They’re kinda blurry.

                    EDIT : Fixed now .

I suppose it’s a sign my english is quite correct 🙂
But if you hear me speaking, it’s difficult to hide I’m french … My accent is terrible ! 😛

Found O-rings for the carb and the tank.
They sell them in a bag full of 10.
So I now have 9 of each to sell, for the price of the stamp 🙂 (Canada Post)
Maybe 8 in fact, to keep a spare …
