Is there a difference in these two sparkplugs? Is one a resistor plug? Thanx in advance.

The R stands for resistor while the V means it’s a surface gap plug. The J8C is just a standard plug. I can’t find any listing for a RJ8CV plug but maybe they do make them.

          Isn’t the J8C a shorter version of the J8?

Yes…it’s a resistor plug intended for use with static sensitive devices….I wouldn’t use it but might just try it for running if I already had it. I think it might decrease the intensity of the spark similar to using resistance ignition wire.
