I have removed prop shaft seals before. But this seal housing is different.Usually there are two holes in which I would use a punch to drive out the seal.On this seal I was planning on using a socket to drive out the prop seal.Should I put the socket on the dirty side and pound toward the gears????? Or put the socket on the clean side and pound toward the prop??????

      clean

      dirty

I don’t think it matters.  Whichever leaves you feeling better.
