What should I use on a Wisconsin Row Boat motor. The hose is turning to dust and the clamps may or not be original to the motor.

I’d like to know the answer to your question as well. The old red hose that was on mine
disintegrated as well, and I have clear vinyl on it for now. Can’t remember what
mine had for clamps, if any.

You could use most any rubber fuel line type hose, I’d think.
But if you then covered it with this, it might look pretty cool :

I’ve used this kind of stuff before, and found that if you cover the cut end with a small piece of black electrical shrink tube, it looks nice and neat.

Oldemtr, that’s a pretty good idea. I thought about fuel hose before, but it all had
white printing on it that stuck out like a sore thumb. Thanks!

P.S.- Any idea what kind of clamps they used circa 1916?
Of course, it would be nice if I actual ever get it to run too!

I kinda’ like the look of the old red rubber hose. I have some that I found at the flea markets, most likely it was originally air hose… not a problem for the RBM water system. I can’t help with the question about period correct hose clamps. But for sure not stainless steel aero screw clamps. My guess would be the “old fashioned” metal clamp that had the small screw and square nut to tighten.

Here’s what I’ve found on a couple of my RBMs. Probably findable at swap meets, flea markets etc.

If you don’t like the printing on some rubber line, you can usually just wipe it off with some acetone.
We did this in the auto restoration shop where I worked, many years ago, to make “old” hoses from new :~)

Also, if the original hose is supposed to be red, then you could look at “air & water” industrial hose –
It comes in red, and a couple sizes :

Looks like several options for hose and clamps.
I tried making one of those Clamptite tools for a project
                      a couple of years ago…….. worked so-so.

A "Boat House Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
