You guys may remember that the Midget had been found in the rubble of a burned down garage.
Not much more than smoke damage, but the plug wire had “perished”.

Tried to assemble the tiller handle and its cover, and find the only place the wire apparently exits, puts it within very close proximity to the cylinder casting, not usually a good idea !

Have included a couple of pics, one of which shows the current routing of the plug wire under the mag plate. After a couple of looks, I did move the little rectangular wire clamp/holder to its present position. The support had been mounted at about 7 o’clock to its current position, and made the wire look awkward.

Any suggestions, comments or pics would be greatly appreciated.

      Bill.

That is where it comes out on mine. NABMD

Thanks nabmd, I’ve not run this or any other Midget yet, so not sure about how warm the cylinder gets.
          Appreciate the reply.

Mine overheated because the ball/check valve at the bottom was stuck closed. It was hot enough to sizzle drops of water on the top of the cylinder; that’s how I figured out why it wouldn’t stay running. The plug wire didn’t seem to mind at all, no melting, etc. I poked a small nail up through the screen at the bottom to loosen the ball, and it ran fine after that.NABMD

That advertisng shot looks totally different, with the wire exiting on the other side of the motor entirely.
Will have a look at mine but as I recall the burned wire was on the other side of the mag plate.
                Thanks guys.

Remember, you can’t trust advertising photos. They don’t care about reality.
