Just bought a 1958 16hp Scott. As usual, the coils are bad. Other than that, it looks like it has been put away dirty in someone’s garage twenty years ago. And that is exactly the story I was told. Other than the dirt, it looks good. Where do I get the 7/16 laminate size OMC coils so I can rebuild the Wico’s that are toast?

I believe 7/16″ is what all the Universal OMC coils are, so
        you can get them anywhere.

        Prepare to be boarded!

          OMC 0584477 or Sierra 18-5181?

Ooops! Measure twice; cut once. Those laminates are actually 5/8

Do your homework and see if you can find a pair of these at a reasonable price. They are almost bulletproof. Came in 7/16″ and 5/8″

Russ Larson the Martin guy may have those Wico coils new.
